Overview-Art Rave 2014
\nThis is the second year that Art Rave has presented the Art Rave Festival.
\nART RAVE 2014 will be start on Friday, July 25th with a Juried Art Show running
\nuntil Aug. 4th.
\nThis 11 day celebration of the Arts will be held in the historical Train Station
\nnear the Harbor at the foot of Argyle Street in the Port Alberni Arts District.
\nFriday, Aug. 1st there will be a reception in the Gallery area for artists, sponsors,
\ndignitaries and the public who purchase advance tickets. The event is
\ncatered with a cash bar and musicians on site to set the mood.
\nAug. 2nd and 3rd there are plans for art displays & demonstrations that run
\nseveral blocks along Argyle, a Beer Garden and Sound Stage.
\nART RAVE is a free, family event. There will be art workshops for children.
\nChildren will be able to paint their own windsock. The main show will be
\ncentered in and around the Alberni Train Station. What a fine way to spend a
\nday… viewing the works of talented artists and hey, creating some art yourself
\nin the participation pavilion. There’s lots going on to engage the kids at this
\nFREE FAMILY EVENT. This year’s Sound Stage will include an afternoon Family
\nProgram. In the evening, listen to some hot tunes and kick up your heels
\nto the 11 piece funk-i-licious band with a killer brass section, The New
\nGroovement.
\nVisitors can end their day with a stroll down to the nearby Quay and enjoy
\nthe restaurants and shops while the kids unwind at the Harbor side
