Art Rave refuses to die!<\/h2>\n<p>Not only was Art Rave&#8217;s Annual General Meeting held on Apr. 22 and a new board elected (with places for any of you who want to volunteer), but there a suite of Spring events are planned with more to come.<br \/>\nThese events, some in partnership with others, have the promise of being lots of fun and attracting new members.<\/p>\n<h2>2022 Art Rave Board:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Colleen Clancy: Chair,<\/li>\n<li>Robert Gunn: Treasurer,<\/li>\n<li>Jillian Mayne: Secretary.<\/li>\n<li>Board members at large: Theresa Kingston, Laurie Blakley, Sue Thomas, (Beate Grennamen to be confirmed)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>On-going events include:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>May 5th &#8211; opening reception of the Museum Art Show. Show runs unitl Sept. 13th.<\/li>\n<li>May 18th &#8211; Jolleen Dick: Cultural Appreciation and Appropriation<\/li>\n<li>June 4th &#8211; Elspeth Watson A Lifetime in Art<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Dates &amp; details pending\u2026<br \/>\n-In conjunction with RCN Media, launch of Winter Darbey\u2019s new book.<br \/>\n-A free art making event.<\/p>\n<p>Also, pending discussions on:<br \/>\nArts Council\u2019s Art Battle<br \/>\nFall Social\/Performance Evening?Membership Drive?Fundraiser at Char\u2019s (using Grant\u2019s coupon for venue)<\/p>\n<p>Art Rave was approached by the Heritage Canada Day Committee asking Art Rave to participate. We have a pre-Covid grant in hand for that purpose rolled over from 2020.<br \/>\nA s the site is City property and unceded territory, the decision was made to contact the City requesting their confirmation that a conversation had taken place with the Hupachsath &amp; Tseshaaht Nations.<\/p>\n<p>Art Rave keeps Reconciliation in mind, so with flags still flying at half mast &amp; ongoing forensic investigations at the residential school, a consultation about Canada Day \u2018celebration\u2019 is necessary prior to our participation.<\/p>\n<p>*As of May 2nd, Art Rave has not received a confirmation of any consultation re: Canada Day celebration from the City.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS PAY YOUR DUES $10.<\/strong><br \/>\nArt Rave<br \/>\nC\/o 5115 Gordon Ave<br \/>\nPort Alberni<br \/>\nV9Y 6T5<\/h2>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A shoutout\u2026.
